



CrossFit AFK began as an idea between a group of high school friends who were passionate about training and getting better. What started in a garage when they were just 15 years old eventually grew into a CrossFit gym built on coaching, community, and long-term health.
CrossFit AFK was brought to life by Jeffrey, Jacob, and Michael, with a shared belief that fitness should improve real life—not just performance in the gym. In 2020, we tragically lost Mike in a fatal car accident. Today, Jeffrey, Courtney, and Jacob carry that vision forward, honoring his legacy by continuing to build a gym that puts people first.
Our mission aligns with CrossFit’s original goal: to help people move more, build strength, and live healthier lives. We believe fitness should pull people away from screens, sedentary habits, and quick-fix solutions—and move them toward confidence, capability, and long-term health.
That belief is reflected in our name and our tagline:
Away From Keyboard. Onto Health.
At CrossFit AFK, we coach individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels—from beginners just getting started to seasoned athletes looking to train smarter. Every workout is scalable, every class is coached, and every member is supported.
Located in Holt, Michigan, CrossFit AFK proudly serves members from Holt, Mason, and the surrounding Lansing area who are looking for a gym that prioritizes coaching, community, and sustainable fitness.
CrossFit AFK is more than just a place to work out—we’re an active part of the community. Our members regularly get outside the gym by partnering with local organizations for fundraisers, hosting in-house social events, and forming teams to participate in local races and competitions.
We believe fitness is one of the most powerful ways to give back. Whether we’re supporting local events, showing up for community causes, or bringing people together through shared challenges, CrossFit AFK uses fitness to make a positive impact beyond the walls of the gym.
At CrossFit AFK, our programming is rooted in CrossFit’s original methodology. We follow CrossFit.com programming because it remains one of the most unbiased, time-tested approaches to improving fitness and health.
Our goal is simple: do what works. That means following CrossFit’s core tenets—constantly varied functional movements performed at appropriate intensity—to deliver real, measurable results. We’re not chasing trends or reinventing the wheel. If something is effective, we use it—even if it isn’t flashy or popular.
